I have typically used latex without specifying font. <BR>

Now I would like to use the hge.mf font from ctan.<BR>

I installed it in <BR>

/usr/local/share/texmf/fonts/source/public/hge/<BR>

on my debian linux system.<BR>

It does not work.<BR>

<BR>

what steps have I left out.<BR>

<BR>

A simple demo file.tex that printed<BR>

out "how now brown cow" would<BR>

solve my problem.<BR>
