Hey Philip !<br>
<br>
Well, that would be difficualt -- a) because the stuff is confidential
and b) I guess can only reproduced in that exact stetting.<br>
<br>
But I can give you a little "cut out" of the code:<br>
<br>
:<br>
:<br>
:<br>
\paragraph{Edge rewiring}<br>
Paragraph one, about 3 lines of text<br>
<br>
Paragraph two, another 4 lines of text<br>
<br>
\subsubsection{Method 2}%<br>
% ----------------------------- unwanted pagebreak here
-----------------------------------------<br>
\paragraph{General remarks}%<br>
%<br>
\begin{figure}[htb!]<br>
\subfloat[]{\scaledinput{sfrme_d2_2000}\label{fig:sf_d21}}\hfill%<br>
\subfloat[]{\scaledinput{sfadde_d2_2000}\label{fig:sf_d22}}\\%<br>
\subfloat[]{\scaledinput{sfrwe_d2_2000}\label{fig:sf_d23}}\hfill%<br>
\subfloat[]{\scaledinput{sfrmn_d2_100}\label{fig:sf_d24}}%<br>
\caption{Bla bla bla}\label{fig:sf_d2}%<br>
\end{figure}<br>
<br>
Another paragraph with more text ...<br>
:<br>
:<br>
:<br>
<br>
I also tried to change the position specifiers of the figure, but that
didn't help either .....<br>
<br>
Again, I'm using the memoir class and haven't fiddled around with any
penalties other the \widowpenalty=10000 \clubpenalty=10000 (and I use
\flushbottom). <br>
<br>
Sorry that I can't be more specific on the text, but my boss would kill
me (at least legally ;-)) <br>
<br>
Still, I hope you can help me, otherwise I have to do some "manual"
formatting with \newpages ...<br>
<br>
Thanks again for your consideration,<br>
<br>

<blockquote type="cite">For some reason, latex seems to prefer to put
section heads at the bottom of the previous page. I am using
\raggedbottom and I set \clubpenalty to 10000, but a section header is
not the start of a paragraph and that appears to have no effect. There
is nothing I could find in the FAQ about it. Surely, someone has
solved this.
