Dear TeX users,

By a technicality, welcome to May's TUG newsletter. This weekend
in the US is Memorial Day, which is the unofficial kickoff to
summer, which means everyone should be thinking about the
annual meeting.

This July, plan to come to Portland, Oregon, for TUG 2014.
The conference is July 28--30. Rooms are reserved for TUG
conference participants at the Mark Spencer Hotel in
downtown Portland. THIS IS NOT A LARGE HOTEL. IT IS
IMPORTANT TO MAKE YOUR HOTEL RESERVATION ASAP. You can
cancel any time up to 24 hours before arrival, so it is
better to reserve now and cancel later if need be.
Further details, and a call for papers are on the
conference website at
http://tug.org/tug2014/

That said, we are still happy to consider presentation proposals (the
deadline has officially passed, but that's ok). Please let us know as
soon as possible.

Other news:

* TeX Live 2014 is frozen, and is being put together with the rest of
the TeX Collection (MacTeX, proTeXt, CTAN, as usual) for the DVD.
It should go to production in June.

* Institutional members now enjoy site-wide electronic access for
their members. New members of any kind are always welcome :).

* Upcoming meetings
  TUG 2014: Portland, Oregon, July 28--30, 2014.
8th ConTeXt Meeting: Bassenge, Belgium, Sept. 8--13, 2014.

Happy TeXing!

Steve Peter
TUG President
(on behalf of the TUG Board)
