Your LaTeX sources are files. They do not depend on the editor.

What exactly do you mean by "I had a postscript file (a simple drawing) listed in Texworks", how is something listed in TeXworks?

Subject: [texhax] corruption of postscript files when installing texstudio

I had a postscript file (a simple drawing) listed in Texworks, then I wanted to install Texstudio, " because it was supposed to be a better platform", first uninstalling Texworks. Do I also lose files like the postscript file when I remove Texworks? This seems to have happened. How do I protect the old but good files in Tex, when updating? I think I'm learning the hard way to stick with what works. Updates ruin me!
