[texhax] Greek letters relatively too large

You use \myalpha in math mode, correct? How about

\newcommand{\myalpha}{\scalebox{0.94}[0.94]{\ensuremath{\alpha}}

I did not test this. If it does not help, please create a minimal (non-)working 
example.
