[texhax] Misplaced headline with makeindex

Hi all,

I am using makeindex to create an index in my document, however I find
that the index's headline ("Index") is placed lower on the page than
normal headlines (see also attached screenshot). So far, I didn't find
any configuration option to change this, and IMO it should not be the
default behavior. Does anyone here have any suggestions/insight?

Thanks in advance,
Stefan

PS: FWIW, I'm using LaTeX from TL2010.

Minimal example to reproduce:

\documentclass{article}

\usepackage{makeidx}

\makeindex

\begin{document}

\section{A}

Lorem\index{lorem} ipsum.

\clearpage

\printindex

\end{document}
