[texhax] pdfTeX for a PC?

I suppose that you are using MacTeX, which is based on TeX Live.  
So it's best if they install TeX Live too.  A TeXShop-like interface
for various platforms is TeXworks.  The Windows version of TeXworks is
already part of TeX Live, Linux versions are part of some Linux
distributions.
