[texhax] Extra .aux files without \include?

Hi,

Is there a common way to start an extra .aux file without using
\include?  I wrote a quick little environment called "auxfile" that
allows the use of a different aux file - in particular this is useful
for chapterbib - and I was wondering if there would be any interest in
uploading to CTAN.  Or maybe I should contact the author of chapterbib
and suggest an addition to that package?
