Nice to hear that you succeeded to install and are using MacTeX now.
It's certainly better than running Windows on a virtual machine.

I briefly looked at

  http://texmakerx.sourceforge.net/#contact

and they mention a "TexMakerX forum" there.  This is certainly the
best place to ask for TexMakerX specific help.
