[texhax] Drawing chemical formulae

No professional chemist that I know would use any of the LaTeX packages
to draw 2-dimensional representations of chemical compounds; none of
these packages have the ability to properly capture structural features.
In addition they are unsuitable for occasional use or for student use
because inter alia they lack intelligence ... for example about the
valence of an element.

 

Use proper chemical structure software such as the freeware IsisDraw
(Windows) to produce publication quality drawings whether eps or
whatever.
