I'm sure this is a frequently asked question, but I can't find the
answer. When someone tells me that they printed a PDF I sent them
(generated via dvips/ps2pdf) and that none of the ligatures appear (no
fi, fl, ff etc), is there a way I can deal with that on my end?
I have no trouble printing or viewing my own documents, and few other
people do, too. But at least one person does. Is this evidence that
they are using an old version of Acrobat or a stale printer driver or
something like that? And even if it is, if I want to accommodate in
some way besides breaking into their office and upgrading software for
them, is there something I can do?
