There's a perl script to go through the dependencies of a LaTeX 
document so that one can archive the whole job on CTAN.

Not directly if you're using Linux (there're PC-based TeXs which can do 
this using OLE &c.).

Instead open the Word file and print to a PostScript file, then distill 
that to a .pdf and place the .pdf in pdlatex, or convert it to a .eps 
and place that.
