That converts your text and line-art into a bitmap, no?

Instead try Cenon, a NeXT CAD/CAM app making the jump to opensource and 
DTP. Available from http://www.cenon.info it can open up a .pdf, make 
it editable, yet leave the text as text (assuming fonts are available 
and encodings aren't an issue) and lineart as lineart. Available for 
OPENSTEP, Mac OS X and Linux (the latter needs the GNUstep runtimes &c. 
available from http://www.gnustep.org)
