Maybe. But well, Hans didn't look very eager to investigate the problem.

Yes, I think that just s/spawn/execute/ in the last line of the wrapper
should do the trick. Since I assume there is a good reason for not doing
this in general, it could indeed be useful to create a texdoc-specific
wrapper for this.

In the long run, it would certainly be good to understand what is going on
with os.spawn() on windows, not only for texdoc, but also to avoid problems
with other "wrapped" scripts.
