using tikz and pstricks in that order, and typeset using pdflatex seems to produce malformed pdf output.<br>

I know you shouldn't use pstricks and typeset with pdflatex however we've had multiple people using a template that does just that. We've been telling folks how to correct the problem but wonder if there should be a problem propagated to the pdf in the first place.<br>

Unfortunately, the latest version of macOS Sierra seems to have problems with the file; previous macOS versions didn't have these problems. Apple knows about the problem and is working on a fix but we have no idea how long that will take.<br>

Note: removing the loading of tikz (before pstricks) removes the problem. Typesetting using latex->dvips->ps2pdf creates a good pdf. Also, changing the order of loading the two packages also creates a good pdf. So, the loading of pstricks seems to be changing something loaded by tikz (not too surprising that they would step on each other's feet a bit in this circimstance) which then propogates into the pdf even though neither package is actually used.<br>
