Well, I am now in that position (at least, in the position as I
should have stated it) :<br>

but I cannot, since "texk/xetex" was not created. No errors were
reported (as far as I could see) during the "Configure" and "Make"
phases.<br>
<br>
What staggers me is not that it did not work (that would have been
far too much to hope for !) but the sheer number of things that it
/did/ build that seemingly have nothing to do with XeTeX at all --
all if these directories have been created under "work/texk" :<br>
