Guys,<br><br>Thanks a lot for your replies.<br><br>The command<br><br>$ texconfig-sys init etex<br><div><div id="SkyDrivePlaceholder"></div><br>did not help. Still no format for etex. The command<br><br>$ kpsewhich fmtutil.cnf<br><br>says nothing, but exit code is 1. I guess that means something (path not found?).<br>The man page does not state anything on exit codes. The file<br><pre>/var/lib/texmf/web2c/fmtutil.cnf</pre>is a file that consists of comments and empty lines solely. But this is a hint:<br>I presume I need to edit this file (or add one in /etc/texmf/fmt.d/ to add<br>etex as format? Would a line like<br><br><pre>etex pdftex language.def -translate-file=cp227.tcx *etex.ini<br></pre>suffice?
