which revision? on which system? perhaps a mutilated checkout.

Makefile.in contains (should contain)
   AM_V_P = $(am__v_P_ at AM_V@)
   am__v_P_ = $(am__v_P_ at AM_DEFAULT_V@)
   AM_DEFAULT_VERBOSITY = @AM_DEFAULT_VERBOSITY@
what are the corresponding lines in Makefile?
