Then let me ask the other way around. Why is there such a description?
Why should someone do it this way?

by the way: There is no description on how to "deinstall" TL2013. There
is no package and no uninstall-script. Should I really "rm
-r /usr/local/texlive/2013". As a normal (nothing-knowing) user, I
wouldn't do it this way, because I don't know hat side-effects it has.
Environment-vars with this value? Links somewhere? I don't know. I am
only a user. A TL-script installed it for me, so there should be a
script for removing or a simple description/docu that says: "Yes! It is
so easy! Just 'rm -r'".

As someone here pointed out: There are different ways of thinking and
viewing something.
