Is this correct? Isn't Unix case sensitive? Shouldn't it be xelatex?

You should include a complete (but minimal) document that shows
the problem, not just a preamble.

Check for a line like
   \usepackage(foo)
using parentheses instead of braces. Also, create a complete
minimal document and someone would quickly discover such an
error.
