Have you tried to open the .dvi file in dviout (to generate the
fonts)?  If that doesn't work then it's probably better to ask your
question on a more general forum, as Norbert suggested.

BTW, why use dvi at all?  There are plenty of latex-friendly pdf
viewers nowadays, e.g., sumatrapdf or even texworks that ships with TL
(it's an editor with integrated pdf viewer, but you can use it as just
pdf viewer too).  Apart from texworks, texmaker and its extended
version texmakerx now come with integrated pdf viewers.  The last one
is very feature rich and IMO makes a good replacement for LEd if
you're looking for one.
