I encountered a bug in current pdftex-1.40.11 of TeXLive 2010 on the
Win32 platform.

After embedding a /PDF/ graphics with \pdfximage, subsequent
calculations of the checksum with \pdfmdfivesum file {<file>} of the
/same/ file give the wrong result:

After embedding another /PDF/ graphics its computed checksum has the
same wrong value given above.

Note, that non-PDF graphics (png, jpeg) and the i386-linux platform are
NOT affected.

The test file:

(1a) \pdfmdfivesum file {ctanlion.pdf}\par    % correct
(2a) \pdfmdfivesum file {tiger.pdf}\vskip 1ex % correct

\pdfximage {ctanlion.pdf}
(1b) \pdfmdfivesum file {ctanlion.pdf}\par    % wrong
(2b) \pdfmdfivesum file {tiger.pdf}\vskip 1ex % correct

\pdfximage {tiger.pdf}
(1c) \pdfmdfivesum file {ctanlion.pdf}\par % wrong, same as 1b
(2c) \pdfmdfivesum file {tiger.pdf}        % wrong, same as 1b
