[tex-live] TexLive Debian package with texlive-fonts-extra

Hi Tim,

I have no idea where to find documentation for the
    usage of these fonts.

TL can only provide the documentation which the authors themselves
provide. So you need to be looking for documentation about the specific
TeX Live package. "texlive-fonts-extra" is a Debian invention, an
aggregation of many TeX Live packages.

In this case, I'm guessing the relevant package is "ocherokee". If you
run "texdoc ocherokee", you should get the short document by the author
(Apostolos Syropoulos). Alternative, you can read it on the web.
http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/help/Catalogue/entries/ocherokee.html

    Apparently cutting and pasting the
unicode text into the .tex document isn't enough.

I'm not sure if it's necessary, but perhaps you need to use the XeTeX
engine (e.g., run "xelatex" instead of "latex" or "pdflatex") for direct
support of Unicode Cherokee. I have no experience with anything related
to that, so can't advise further ...

Hope this helps somehow,
Karl
