After this night update asymptote as a part of TL pretest stopped to
work on MacOSX:

as "everything" but binaries got updated /usr/texbin/asy returns

Welcome to Asymptote version 1.99 (to view the manual, type help)

and exits.

It is not the case on x86_64-linux where asy binaries got updated to
version 2.00. BTW release is 2.01

Please do not consider this as a complain (c'est pretest la vie :-)
) but as a warning. Those who use asymptote on daily basis should
either maintain the "other" copy of it (as I do, updating it via svn)
or not to update it unless in

update --list or update --dry-run

asymptote comes with a binary.

BTW, it would be useful for this if tlmgr update understood no only
<packagename> and --all but also "except <packagename>"

Fortunately TeXLive Utility on MacOSX (GUI interface for tlmgr) can
update "selected packages"
