Same behaviour after running the update script:

$ sudo sh ./update-tlmgr-latest.sh

(not tested).
./runme.sh: done.
$ tlmgr --help
"/var/folders/Hc/Hc53KnQCGN8u9bLoMHnEqE+++TI/-Tmp-/xj7uvKsSh8" may be
a binary file.  See it anyway?
$
