Yes. This is due to new version of geometry (v5.0) which doesn't have
compatability settings (see changes.txt). I think you should report
this problem to beamer developers too.

For workaround you could add this
\makeatletter
\newif\ifGm at compatii
\makeatother

_before_ \documentclass.

There are many times when you want it to ignore the rest of the string just
like atof() does.  Oddly enough, Perl calls atof().  How convenient.  :-)
