Dear list,

I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 and installed TeXLive 2010 according to the
instructions without error messages. Unfortunately, already the first
test (latex small2e) failed. The essential part of the error message
is:

===========================================
Local configuration file hyphen.cfg used
===========================================
(/usr/local/texlive/2010/texmf-dist/tex/generic/babel/hyphen.cfg
! I can't find file `ushyph.tex'.
<to be read again>
                   \relax
l.370   \repeat

(Press Enter to retry, or Control-D to exit)
Please type another input file name:
! Emergency stop.
<to be read again>
                   \relax
l.370   \repeat

No pages of output.
Transcript written on latex.log.' instead of a filename.
I can't find the format file `latex.fmt'!

Interestingly -- if I switch back to the (slightly outdated) texlive-
full from the Ubuntu repositories -- small2e compiles without
problems. But ushyph.tex does not appear in that installation of the
Ubuntu-package either
- -- and the two hyphen.cfg equal, too. Has anybody experienced a
similar problem?

Cheers,

Konstantin
