    thanks, I actually had a look at that page earlier today, but being 
    unfamiliar part of rsync, I had a bit of a problem figuring out how to 
    get only tlnet and below.

That is exactly what acquire-mirror talks about: how to mirror only the
tlnet dir (and below) from a CTAN host.
