I tried on CentOS 4.7, this is the result:
[zw at centos ~]$ cd / && rm -rf /tmp/Current
rm: cannot get current directory: Permission denied
[zw at centos /]$ ll -d /
drwx--x--x 26 root root 4096 Mar 1 11:09 /
[zw at centos /]$ alias rm
bash: alias: rm: not found
[zw at centos /]$ cd && rm -rf /tmp/Current
[zw at centos ~]$ echo $?
You see that I have no alias for rm, its version is 5.2.1
