[tex-live] problem with fonts -- how do i debug this?

Thanks for the pointer. Now i get the use of updmap and -sys! thanks for
that.

i did as you said. removed the user-specific files completely, re-ran the
-sys version as specified

it said the cfg file unchanged (because minion pro already in there), so not
recreated.

did not work.

i re-ran updmap-sys to regen everything sys wide

did not work.

Thank you again so much for your help, this is very important for me to get
working...
