I guess the sources are on the DVD, too, since we don't want to provide
a "Written offer..."? But in any case, the sources *do* make sense in
the tarball for the distros, because the point of having a TeXLive
package included in your distro is that you have it compiled according
to the policies of that distro. This often included dynamic linking,
e.g.
