[tex-live] trouble starting context on latest tl2008 developer snapshot

The GUI interface uses locale and depends on system fonts.  There is
no way to check whether all this is set up properly on a particular
system.  I expected such problems.

As a last resort you could try "install-tl --no-gui".  The text-based
user interface avoids system dependencies and dependes solely on pure
ASCII.

Please let me know if "install-tl --no-gui" doesn't work everywhere.
It's designed to work everywhere.  Please complain if it doesn't.
