I don't think there are many gaps in mainstream libraries such as
libXau, which has certainly been used for over a decade on 64-bit
hardware from Sun and SGI, so the work to implement a 64-bit version
was done long ago.  The remaining gaps are mainly 3rd party things
where the developer may not have access to a 64-bit machine, or
legacy code where there is nobody with the time or inclination to make
the changes.
