[tex-live] TEXDOCVIEW_pdf ???

I try

   texdoc geometry

As the result the program "Evince" starts and shows me the documentation 
of "geometry".  But my definition of "TEXDOCVIEW_pdf" is

export TEXDOCVIEW_pdf='(kpdf %s) &'

Why doesn't start the program "kpdf"? I work on Linux with KDE 3.5.9 
(openSUSE 11.0).
