I've only had a quick look, but I don't think it helps much in my case,
nor would a loop help.  The only thing that would help me is if people
can use "standard" alternation syntax on the commandline,

texdoc -s 'colo(u|)r'

but for a loop or lpeg.S(colou)+lpeg.S(colo) my script would have to
understand the "standard" alternation.
