[tex-live] strange tex-pl.pool, pdfetex-pl.pool, pdfetex.pool files are getting installed

Sorry for my bad wording. I meant: you can also remove pdfetex.pool 
as completely obsolete (and dated Jan 3 2006 :-)

Yes, I checked that, eg. after removing pdfetex.pool:
pdfetex --ini *pdfetex.ini
or running fmtutil
