Hartmut,
Tomek (Tomasz Łuczak) had written a GUI installer for UNIX which looks
quite similar than the TL2005 installer for Windows.

The latest version only lists platforms for which binaries are
available.

However, it doesn't work on x86_64-linux yet, at least I have problems.

It would be very helpful to know whether it runs on other x86_64-linux
systems. Can you try it?

The latest release is at:

  ftp://ftp.gust.org.pl/pub/Projekty/tlpmgui/TL2007/tlpmgui-x86_64-linux

BTW., there is also Master/setuptl/tlpmgui-i386-linux in the
repository (./setuptl/tlpmgui-i386-linux on the test images). It
can't hurt if people running a 32 bit Linux system test it as well.

Regards,
  Reinhard
