I would like to install the latest version of texLive to an alternate prefix, so I have downloaded the iso file. I do not have mount privileges on the target system, and am not aware of any way other than 'mount' to deal with iso imaes on *nix. I could not find a good open-source tool to extract a file hierarchy from an iso file, so I wrote one:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/uniso/

But so that people who find themselves in a similar situation (more and more common with compute grids) wouldn't have to go to so much trouble, wouldn't it be reasonable to also release a texLive.tar.{gz,bz2}?
