[tex-live] Matching TL package setups to my own

Hi Gerben, hi Karl, hi all,

I am back for one week, and have read through the emails but I honestly
cannot make sense from all what is going round.

Let's put it this way: Gerben, if you can come up with a nice proposal
how to change it, that is
- so detailed that it can be implemented (or even better you implement
  the perl modules)
- allows to continue to generate list files as they are used with the
  current installer
- work with the ctan2tl/place scripts (or provide replacements)
we will happily dicuss/incorporate the stuff. But IMHO the current level
of discussion is too abstract as to give as any real gain, any real
prgress. We cannot discuss on this level forever, because we have to
care for releases. What is needed is a clear proposal with clear
transition explanation/procedure.

None of us can and will implement something we not even understand
completely.

But again, I am definitely open to change stuff, even in a profound way,
but I need reasoning.

To come back to what I wrote before: there are only very few collections
containing files, the distinction between collections and schemes I have
explained, and the few things which were strange we tried to fix. So
please tell me first what is now the problem.

Best wishes

Norbert
