Where "installed" fonts, on a GNU/Linux system, typically running a
Gnome or KDE environment, means "fonts known to fontconfig".
If it was only Linux, we might get away with linking fontconfig
dynamically.
And I see the Solaris systems I have access do have
/usr/lib/libfontconfig.so. That's amazing.
But what about IRIX and AIX? Vladimir?
