Aehm, sorry, yes, hyphen.cfg in texmf-dist/tex/platex/config/
needs to be cahnged to use language.dat.

But that is already enough in my case ... I don't see any other
error:

Besides the experimental pattersns are not loaded, but that is fine.


I think we only have to change the
	language.ptx -> language.dat 
in the above mentioned file, that is enough I believe.

I wouldn't change anything just for the sake of supporting experimental
german patterns.

(PS: I was looking at my local installation where this change is
already made)
