Monotonic and polytonic indeed sound better, but we have tried to
stick to some standard, in this case:
     http://www.iana.org/assignments/language-subtag-registry

ISO 639 also uses grc
    grc|||Greek, Ancient (to 1453)|grec ancien (jusqu'à 1453)
    gre|ell|el|Greek, Modern (1453-)|grec moderne (après 1453)

I would like not to invent new standards.
