[tex-eplain] indexing [see] to subitem.

I have an index item that I want to create as
a "see" to a subitem. 
In my 2006 version of the manual this situation
is not covered. Do I need a newer version? Or do
I just use:
\sidx[see]{newterm}{oldmain!oldterm}
?
