Dear TeXers

The month of March is here. In the US and some other countries it is
Women's history month. Many countries celebrate March 8 as
International Women's day. This is a good occasion to recall the
contribution of women to many fields, including the field of
typography. There is a very interesting article at
https://ilovetypography.com/2014/10/15/the-first-female-typographer/,
discussing Anna R\"ugerin, the first woman whose name appeared on a
colophon in 1484, and many other women, often anonymous, who were
important in the bookmaking art.

In TUG news. TUG 2023 election results are available online
(https://tug.org/election/2023/candidates.html). This year we have
only one nominee for the office of President, and no more nominations
for the Board of Directors than the open seats. According to the
Bylaws, there was no ballot for this election, and the new officers
are declared duly elected.

The President-elect of TUG is Arthur Rosendahl (n\'e Reutenauer). He has
been a Board member since 2013, and a Vice President since 2017. His
term starts from the next AGM.

Barbara Beeton, Max Chernoff, Ulrike Fischer, Jim Hefferon, Tom Hejda,
J\'er\'emy Just, Norbert Preining, and Boris Veytsman start their terms
on the Board with the next AGM.

Paulo Cereda has decided to step down. Paulo was appointed to the
Board in 2021 to fill a position that remained open after the
election.

As the outgoing president I want to thank Paulo for his dedicated
service, and congratulate both the new and old members and wish them
good luck in their (our) work.

In other TUG news. TUG2023 is close. The deadline for hotel
reservations at our rate is April 1! It's a small hotel and there is
no guarantee of there being rooms after that. It is possible to cancel
reservations if necessary. Please take a look at
