Herbert,

   I think that I now understand. It doesn't matter where TeX places the
baseline and origin as the pspicture origin can be placed anywhere we want
it.

   To finish my presentation I needed a flow chart. I downloaded the example
and tried to understand how to modify it for my needs, but ended up using
'tgif' which exports as .eps files. In any case, I don't have psmatrix
installed. I'll wait for the English version of your PSTricks book to learn
how to use it effectively and efficiently. Especially, efficiently. :-)

   I suppose that I ought to buy the LaTeX graphics book, too. Real Soon Now
I'm selling a bunch of books to Powell's and will buy a copy then.
