Uh, I think I made a big mistake. Yes, of course 
it can. Thank you for the hint.

But there is something similar with multido:

 \multido{\nii=84+-\strip at pt\myheight}{12}{foo}

And here it is definitely not allowed to use

 \multido{\nii=84+-\myheight}{12}{foo}

But with \strip at pt there is again the factor 2.85.

Any ideas?
