[protext] proTeXt problem

I downloaded the 750Mb installation for the four components w/o apparent
difficulty.  The installation of MiKTEX proceeded also w/o apparent
difficulty.
When I clicked on the link for the bat file that installs TEXnic Center, I
received a message that said the system cannot find "C:\Documents".   No
small wonder!  I don't have such a directory.

I must say that, though I have not paid for the software, I am disappointed
to note this sort of problem.
