Hi,

> What mean "live" TeX installation?

It means "runs from media without full installation on hard disk" (in
fact, it needs a temporary directory to store files created on the
fly, as far as I know, I never used it this way)

> ¿live TeX = linux live file system ?

Not exactly. Like the Linux Live CDs/DVDs that allow to boot a Linux
system directly from CD/DVD without affecting an existing Windows
system on hard disk it allows to have a TeX system running directly
from DVD without time consuming installation, but there is no Linux
system in the background. You boot your Windows from hard disk as
usual. It's just that all the programs, LaTeX classes and style files,
font metrics etc. are used directly from DVD without copying them to
hard disk. As mentioned in documentation typesetting documents this
way is usually much slower than running a TeX system on hard disk, but
it may be useful if you only temporary need a TeX system on a
computer, e.g.
for a presentation or testing.

Best,
Klaus
