[pdftex] pdftex compilation puzzle

Yesterday I recompiled pdftex-1.40.3 (source from sarovar.org)

Prior to this I downloaded and recompiled libpng 1.2.16
(http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=5624) and
xpdf 3.0.2 from http://ftp.foolabs.com/xpdf/download.html (and installed them)


Still, pdftex -v tells:

Compiled with libpng 1.2.15; using libpng 1.2.15
Compiled with zlib 1.2.3; using zlib 1.2.3
Compiled with xpdf version 3.01




I am using MacOS X 10.4.8 and I since I do not have Motif installed
only xpdf tools rather than xpdf itself were installed

Any explanations? Thank you in advance
