A good introduction to LaTeX is:

It shows source code and output similar as you described. And if math
formulas are required, reading
http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/macros/latex/required/amslatex/math/amsldoc.pdf
is unavoidable.
In my opinion these documents are a good starting point.
